Roof Panel Repair Support Structures
SX/EW Cells
HJ3’s system of carbon
fiber composites can be used to repair
large polymer concrete tanks used
to process copper. These high
strength composite systems are capable
of restoring the tensile strength
of the polymer concrete tank walls
deteriorating from exposure to electrolyte. The
HJ3 composites also provides chemical
protection and have been tested to
withstand chemicals ranging from
pH 1 to pH 13 in over 20,000 hours
of continuous exposures. Specific
application of these products to
electrolytic cells has become a successful
repair for the copper industry. (back

Roof Panel Repair
Corrosion of steel wiring within gypsum roof panels leads to cracking and falling debris from the panels. HJ3 high strength composite materials are used to strengthen the roof panels and protect those panels from aggressive chemical attack from acids used in the copper process. HJ3 also utilizes thermoplastic top coats such as polypropylene, to create a chemical resistant and pin-hole free surface. (back to top)
Support Structures
The R/C columns and beams used to support the
SX/EW Cells degrade after continual exposure to electrolyte. HJ3’s
high strength composite systems are used as a cost-effective
repair and strengthening system to return these support
structures to their original design value. HJ3’s
composite systems utilize thermoplastic top coats such
as polypropylene, to create a chemical resistant and pin-hole
free surface and protect the columns and beams from further
degradation. (back to top)
