PCCP Large diameter
Pre-stressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe is used to transfer
potable drinking water. Over time, the pre-stressing
wires used to contain the internal pipe pressure corrode
leaving the PCCP susceptible to blow-out. HJ3’s carbon fiber
composite systems can be installed on the internal
pipe wall of the PCCP to create hoop strengthening
to resist these internal pipe pressures. The repairs are made
without having to excavate and replace the pipe resulting
in considerable cost savings. HJ3’s products
are approved by Underwriters Lab for use in potable
drinking water applications. These systems have also been independently
tested and approved by the Metropolitan Water Department
