Pedestals

In industrial facilities, pedestals are used to support both Equipment – such as pumping systems – and Steel Column Supports. Vibrations caused during plant operations are transmitted to the concrete pedestals causing the concrete to crack and spall. The CarbonSeal system confines the cracks and protects the pedestal from future corrosion.
As the pedestals crack, moisture penetrates to the reinforcing steel causing the steel to oxidize, bloom, and delaminate the concrete.
